Ready to begin your weight loss journey?

For your initial visit, you will need to schedule an appointment with our office. Before your consultation, we prefer for you to have recent (within the last 6 months) lab work so that a treatment plan can be made on the day you come in. If you do not have recent lab work, you can have your blood drawn in our office 2 days prior to your consultation.

Upon arriving at your consultation, a provider will carefully screen you by evaluating your past medical history, any current medications you take, and your vital signs. The provider will then use her discretion (based on the FDA recommendations) to determine if Semaglutide/Tirzepatide is a safe and good option for you. You will also have the option to have a Fit3D Body Scan performed to establish baseline measurements.

Your regimen will be customized based on your results.

Step 3:

In 12 weeks from the day of your first injection, we will have your labs drawn again to ensure that the medication and your dosage are both effective and at a healthy level for your body.

FAQs

  • Semaglutide (Ozempic) is a groundbreaking GLP-1 receptor agonist that is an FDA-approved injectable weight-loss medication. It is the first once-weekly medication in its class that helps with chronic weight management.

Semaglutide/Ozempic was originally developed for patients with Type 2 diabetes, but when providers and pharmaceutical developers noticed how much weight their patients were losing, they began to study Semaglutide/Ozempic exclusively for weight loss. A series of clinical trials known as the STEP clinical trials demonstrated that almost 90% of patients lost 5% or more of their body weight.

Semaglutide/Ozempic injection is also used to reduce the risk of a stroke, heart attack, or death in adults who have type 2 diabetes along with heart and blood vessel disease.

  • Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) is another injection approved by the FDA for weight loss. Tirzepatide increases insulin secretion while slowing the rate at which the stomach empties food by replicating a natural hormone.

  • In a comparative study for type 2 diabetes, semaglutide lowered A1C levels by about 1% to 2%, while tirzepatide lowered A1C by 2% to 2.5%.

Weight loss with semaglutide ranged from 6 to 10 kg (13.2 to 22 lb). With tirzepatide, weight loss ranged from 7 to 13 kg (15.4 to 28.6 lb). Tirzepatide may have a better effect to help lower blood sugar and lead to weight loss in some patients, but may be associated with more stomach side effects at higher doses.

  • By mimicking a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), these medications target the area of the brain that regulates appetite. They are a powerful appetite suppressant and also work by increasing insulin production and inhibiting the production of glucagon, a hormone that increases blood sugar.

  • Once starting treatment, most people lose an average of 1-2 pounds per week, but this can vary depending on a number of factors. Many patients achieve their weight loss and health goals within a year and have better long-term success in maintaining their results than those who have not taken Semaglutide/Tirzepatide.
